Oh Donegal You let me down It was not your fault It was in my mind But Down you lift me up Every time I see Your giant's cup and all that's etched In memory. Sometimes it takes A place Before you see It's not where you are, It's how you feel. My home I'll never know I'm a stranger Among my own But the truth is Stranger still Like a standing stone Upon a hill I stand alone Like a bird in the sky I belong here Without ever knowing why The further apart we go the more my love for you Will only grow

Cloud 04:57
I thought I Heard the answer But it was just the question Echoing back, The sound of my own voice Carrying through The night So deep and black The powers that be Inside of me, As a river flows Into the sea, As an apple falls From a tree, I am all I see. I wander slowly As a cloud Into Dusk's shroud. The leaves are dripping Heavy with dew And I count myself Among the view; Not one, Not two. The powers that be Inside of me, As a river flows Into the sea, As an apple falls From a tree, I am all I see.

Tonight we drink to stealth Blowing in Off the continental shelf O'er the mountains and bogs Hanging like a fog, Clouding the mists of time. It'll never clear, Like a ringing in your ear. Raise you voice above the din Say what you like - You'll never win Tonight we drink To mark The passing of time, The endless drives, Through dying towns, The distant voices Of the people, Ringing in the empty streets And dreary steeples, Tonight.

Trier 05:51
Far from all distractions Or the need for interaction Where the land meets the sea In foam and debris, I stand. Mapped out in memory And geography Mind and matter In this place there is no other Alone i stand I'm just A trier in a choir The voice of the wind In the wire Out of view But whispering through The longest of nights The tug and pull A circling gull Runs rings around The sweeping sound. I feel The spray and sand On face and hands Taste the salted palm The things I am, I am. A trier in a choir The voice of the wind In the wire Out of view But whistling through The longest of nights I'm at your back I'm in your ear Ringing in The new day, Far from here.

Made to Last 04:08
I asked you a question Didn't expect a reply And to my expectation You did comply Well the weight of expectation's Been weighing me down It's time to offload this weight In a strange new town Am I wasting your time? Or are you wasting mine? The blind Leading the blind. Only time will tell, But I've never asked, Because the future's becoming A thing of the past Feels like I've been walking For miles and miles Looking for direction Seeing no signs. This path just winds and winds Around this heart, It fits and it starts Threads of conversations Are hanging on the line The line I put myself on And crossed many times Is now a dot on the horizon Fading fast Should have known it was never Made to last.

The sky is glowing blue From the light that's seeping through The clouds up high But I am cushioned by The clouds below And the rain that flows And makes it hard to see past The end of your nose And so the lights of passing cars Will have to do as stars Shining through the black Bouncing off the tarmac The dance of The rain that knows The spray makes it hard to see The end of the road When your life feels Like one long drive And you want to pull over But there's no time So you just check your mirrors And head off Into the night

I thought I'd do something big Maybe I still will. A big mistake Or a bigwig Rubbing shoulders The wrong way. I thought I'd go somewhere Traveling all this way I thought it seemed only fair But it feels like I took a hike To nowhere. Feels like I'm stranded here No way home Sick to the teeth Soaked to the bone No charge left On my phone Just the long road Alone. I thought things through Maybe too much Letting chances go Feeling out of touch. Drifting off to sea In dreams and nightmares Taking refuge wherever, Taking pride Before a fall. Feels like I'm stranded here No way home Sick to the teeth Soaked to the bone No charge left On my phone Just the long road Alone. Someday I might return To this island I have left To where I pitched my tent And watched the fire burn For though I was at sea, Washed up, Drenched and cold, I felt the earth move; I had no place else to be Feels like I'm stranded here No way home Sick to the teeth Soaked to the bone A man cannot live On bread and wine Alone.

Here among The weeds and rust Where best laid plans Gather dust I map out mine The long way home My ticket to ride Destination unknown But to catch that train I'd need to go back in time To when they never thought That years down the line There'd be no line Sleepers sleep On their trackbed While restless, I, backtrack instead To decisions made When I was as empowered As that rusting shunter Up the yard But to catch that train I'd need to go back in time To when they never thought That years down the line There'd be no line There's a light on the horizon It's no oncoming train But it shines on everything And I see some things remain To catch that train I'd need to go back But I can't go back I can only go forward To the end of the line.

Hubcap at the side of the road. Signs of mishaps, stories untold. Now all is bathed in morning light, unforgiving and cold in its sight. The misty fields under its glare, the winding roads leading nowhere. But follow I will, follow the dawn, the sunlight between the trees, the path that goes on. A bicycle in an empty home, pieces of lives, scattered, unknown. Now all is bathed in morning dew, indiscriminately coating all in view, The misty fields under its glow, the winding road leading home. Follow I will, follow the dawn, the sunlight between the trees, the path that goes on.
